Sold - Hans J. Wegner CH27 chair
24V8-753
A rare Hans J. Wegner (1914 - 2007) CH27 easy chair in solid oak and cane. The CH27 easy chair is a remarkable creation by the master of chairs. Building on the weaving design of his JH512 folding chair in 1949, Wegner further experimented with the motif and crafted this fixed version in 1951. The result was a stunning piece of furniture incorporating the best features of his rare Dolphin chair from 1950, the JH512 folding chair, and the CH25 easy chair from 1950. However, the CH27 easy chair stands alone as a masterpiece.
The CH27 easy chair is a magnificent construction, and Wegner's expertise is evident in the intricate weaving pattern and the elegant curves of the solid oak frame.
We've restored the frame, and the cane on the back and seat is new, ensuring an incredible experience with this chair. Burn-stamped and produced by Carl Hansen & Søn.
