A pair of vintage Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) JH-503 “The Round Chairs” in solid oak.
Perhaps the most famous Danish chair of all time, this chair was the culmination of Wegner’s life work.
Designed in 1949, Hans Wegner presented this chair at the 23rd edition (1949) of the annual Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition at Design Museum Denmark.

Nicknamed “The Chair” by the Americans, Wegner in his modesty, always referred to it as the “Round One.”

We have fully restored the frames in a soap finish, with newly padded seats covered in new aniline leather.

Marked and made by master cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen.
